Why. To mimic real bat calls in order to test and demo the Echo Box smart bat sensors created in the Nature-Smart Cities project.
What. The artificial bat gun can play the calls of 6 different bat species at their original ultrasonic frequencies and also at lower frequencies that are audible to people. It was originally used to test the Echo Box smart bat sensors and is now used in demos and at outreach events.
